The Story Behind Paint & Sip Studio New YorkMay 7, 2015 - Posted in Uncategorized
It was a passion for art coupled with a desire to give people a chance to discover their inner artist that inspired founder Yaffa Cheslow to open Paint & Sip Studio New York. But Cheslow is far from your average art enthusiast. Cheslow is a succesful corporate attorney with a degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
“The decision to go to law school was guided by the principle that obtaining a law degree would provide a great foundation for starting a business,” said Cheslow. “Advising hundreds of corporate clients over the years solidified my passionate belief that one day I would be at the helm of my own business.”
When Cheslow’s son began painting in pre-school, she picked up a paintbrush for the first time and knew she had found her passion. “I immediately realized that painting was a powerful stress reliever, and it allowed me to embrace my creative side,” Cheslow explained. It only made sense to share this discovery with her family, friends and ultimately her Upper West Side neighbors.
“Sharing the experience of creating a masterpiece with a novice where no experience is necessary is both fulfilling and gratifying,” she said. “After living on the Upper West Side for fifteen years, I understood the value in providing this unique outlet to the community.”
Cheslow’s partner, Stacey Miller, also recognized the inherent importance of bringing art to the masses. “For me, it was the opportunity to connect with people in a fun, relaxing environment where people can just be themselves,” the matrimonial attorney said. “Years ago I owned a coffee shop in New Orleans, and I missed forging new relationships and connections with my community.”
Both Cheslow and Miller are delighted to welcome New Yorkers to their vibrant studio for B.Y.O.B paint classes. To underscore their commitment to deliver a relaxing and rewarding experience to all of their guests, they invite you to bring a friend, date or family member for free during the month of May.
